Students Will be College and Career Ready in Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening in Regards to History- A successful school year in this class should involve the student's ability to comprehend and evaluate complex ideas, histories and texts across a range of types and disciplines, and they should be able to construct effective arguments and convey intricate or multifaceted information. Likewise, students should be able, independently, to discern a speaker’s key points, request clarification, and ask relevant questions. They should build on others’ ideas, articulate their own ideas, and confirm they have been understood. Without prompting, they should demonstrate command of standard English and acquire and use a wide-ranging vocabulary. look on page 57 of Bailey -- it involves land ownership and will be important when we view Frederick Jackson Turner's Frontier Thesis and the change from Jeffersonian democracy to Jacksononian demecrocy.
Mr. Luebbers, it says that Art and Literature weren't part of colonial life at one point. But architecture was important. Didnt they need art for architecture??
